The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced a major update for tourist visa holders. Holders of B1, B2 or any other US business or tourist visas can now apply for jobs and attend interviews while in the US.
The USCIS clarified the same via a post on Twitter following multiple inquiries.
The post further clarified that those with a B1 or B2 visa cannot engage in employment with the domestic labour market. Job applicants must also officially change their status from B-1 or B-2 to an employment-authorised status before starting a new job.
In the case that the status is denied, the individual will have to exit the country and be admitted in an employment-authorised classification before beginning the new employment.
