UAE Eid Al Adha holidays: Bookings surge for car rentals, holiday homes

Car and holiday home bookings surge during the Eid holiday period

UAE Eid Al Adha holidays rent a car

Eid Al Adha is around the corner with official public holidays announced from June 27, employees in the country are set to get a six-day break. According to recent data from holiday homes and car rental companies, bookings are seeing a significant surge.

“We have noticed a significant increase in the demand for our car rental bookings lately. Many individuals are opting for breaks and choosing to travel by car, especially with the upcoming Eid Al Adha holidays. The SUV and compact SUV segments are particularly popular as people are travelling with their entire families. This trend has been quite noticeable,” Soham Shah, CEO of Selfdrive.ae.

According to the CEO, the company has seen an increase of 30 percent in weekly reservations as compared to last year.

“Additionally, we have observed a substantial increase in cross country reservations where people are travelling from neighboring countries to Dubai, as well as people from the UAE travelling to places such as Qatar and Oman. We have seen a growth of nearly 25 percent in cross-country booking. Many people are planning to make the most of the long holiday weekend by embarking on road trips. It’s common to see multiple families or groups of friends booking three to four cars together for these occasions,” he concluded.

Demand for Eid Al Adha holiday homes

Last-minute holiday home bookings are on an uptick considering the high cost of flights.

“We are eagerly anticipating a last-minute surge for Eid, as it is common for Eid bookings to occur in the final moments. Considering the exorbitant costs of flights, we anticipate a significant number of UAE residents making last-minute bookings to spend quality time with their friends and family. While the guests are primarily of various nationalities, the majority are UAE residents,” said Vinayak Mahtani, CEO of bnbme holiday homes.

Holiday homes near Dubai Mall are seeing a significant increase in demand due to individuals wanting to stay indoors during summer months.

“For instance, we have a stunning triplex penthouse with a private pool overlooking the Palm and Bluewaters, which has already been booked for a two-week stay starting in two weeks, with a rate exceeding AED10,000 per night,” he said.

Travel rates are also expected to surge with a six-day break for employees followed by summer break for schools.
