The development of Wynn Al Marjan, the United Arab Emirates’ first integrated gaming resort remains “perfectly on track” for its Q1 2027 opening, according to RAK Hospitality’s Chief Operating Officer Donald Bremner.

In an interview with Arabian Business on the sidelines of the inaugural Seven Wonders event in Ras Al Khaimah on Thursday, Bremner confirmed there have been “no suggestions of any delays” to the landmark project.

Wynn Al Marjan takes shape

The $3.9 billion Wynn Al Marjan development has already transformed the emirate’s skyline, with construction now reaching over 90 meters, making it the tallest building in Ras Al Khaimah. Work is rapidly progressing beyond the 15th floor as the resort takes shape on its prime beachfront location.

The ambitious project, which marks Wynn Resorts’ first beachfront property, will span 62 hectares on Al Marjan Island. Plans include 1,542 rooms and suites, complemented by 22 exclusive Villa Estates situated along a newly designed marina. The resort will feature an expansive 3.6-hectare poolscape with multiple swimming pools, water features, and private cabanas.

In a strategic move demonstrating long-term confidence in the region, Wynn Resorts has recently expanded its footprint, acquiring an additional 70-plus acres of land on Al Marjan Island for future development. Through its joint venture, the company now owns all 155 acres of Island 3, where the resort is located.

Craig Billings, CEO of Wynn Resorts, has called the UAE “the most exciting new market for our industry in decades.”

The gaming facility, which will be the first of its kind in the UAE, will occupy approximately 4 per cent of the hotel’s total area, highlighting the resort’s broader focus on luxury hospitality and entertainment.

The development is expected to serve as a major catalyst for tourism growth in Ras Al Khaimah, with projections suggesting it will help attract more than 5 million visitors to the emirate by 2030. This aligns with RAK’s broader tourism strategy, which aims to triple international visitors to 3.5 million by the end of the decade.

Beyond gaming, the resort will house 22 dining, lounge, theatre, and bar venues, each featuring unique designs. A 15,000-square-metre shopping esplanade will showcase luxury boutiques, while a five-star spa and salon will cater to wellness enthusiasts. The property will also feature a 7,500-square-metre meetings and events centre for conferences, conventions, and celebrations.

Construction began in early 2023 under UAE-based main contractor ALEC Engineering and Contracting, with the full tower expected to reach over 300 metres upon completion. The development represents a significant milestone in the UAE’s tourism sector and marks Ras Al Khaimah’s emergence as a major luxury destination in the region.
