Private jet operator Mirai enters Middle East as demand for charter flights rise

The expansion will pave the way to many ‘investment and partnership opportunities’ globally and locally

Charter flight operator Mirai Flights has signed with three brokers to expand its operations to the Middle East.

The UK-based startup has signed deals with charter brokers Aeon Luxe, AirJets FZ Ltd and Jet Summit FZE, it said in a statement.

Mirai’s expansion is “driven by the UAE being one of the oldest, well-established business aviation markets and its unprecedented luxury segment that welcomes tech-savvy services.”

It comes after seeing a high demand for private travel during the pandemic, when compared to commercial flights.

The company aims to develop business to business and business to consumer offerings through local partnerships and FBO partners.

“Adding Middle Eastern brokers to the service is a crucial step in achieving our main aim to automate the business aviation booking process. There are plenty of investment and partnership opportunities”, said Mirai Flights’ co-founder and director, Irakli Litanishvili.

He also added that the private jet company, which is backed by UK-based Xploration capital venture fund and UAE-based private investors, is open to regional investments.

Mirai Flights is also the first IT solution provider in business aviation to introduce crypto payments, it said in a statement, and sees the Middle East as “one of the pivoting markets for crypto services, where many users with high purchasing power using crypto.”

“Enabling crypto payments gives us a great competitive advantage and financial flexibility, said financial director of Jet Summit FZE, Tatiana Furga.

She also added that Mirai makes such payments accessible and simple, for the client and the broker as well.

Mirai Flights connects clients to private jets, with an option to choose the class of the aircraft, price, a number of passengers, comfort level, and immediate payment of up to AED1.1 million, the statement added.
