Philippines and India are the early favourites for travellers from Saudi Arabia and the UAE this upcoming winter season, new data showed.
Bookings for November and December from the UAE are up 83 percent in August compared to the previous month, according to Skyscanner, as air travel picks up post-pandemic.
In Saudi Arabia, bookings for travel in the same period more than doubled in August compared to the previous month.
“We’re continuing to see booking behaviours return to pre-pandemic and seasonal norms,” travel expert from Skyscanner, Ayoub El Mamoun, said in a statement.
Other popular destinations for UAE travellers include Pakistan, the UK, Qatar, Egypt, Thailand, and Ireland, the data showed.
The list is similar for travellers coming from Saudi Arabia.
Latest global data shows that international tourism is back to 60 percent of pre-pandemic levels in the first half of the year, with the number of travellers hitting nearly half a billion.
The Middle East market showed one of the fastest recoveries, the data showed, with inbound tourism reaching 76 percent of 2019 levels.
