Passengers on board select Emirates flights will be able to try out a limited-edition bourbon by American whiskey distiller Woodford Reserve.

Woodford Reserve, a super-premium Kentucky Bourbon, is crafted at the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky.

The move is part of the distillery’s efforts to mark its 15-year partnership with Dubai’s Emirates, which resulted in the introduction of Woodford Reserve Emirates Personal Selection, a personally curated private whiskey blend.

In a statement, First and Business Class passengers traveling on Emirates will have the privilege of enjoying this unique blend in the iconic A380 Onboard Lounge.

The Woodford Reserve Emirates Personal Selection is known for its aroma which comprises of hints of dried fruits, sweet honey, vanilla buttercream, and charred wood.

The taste profile is opulent, featuring notes of cherry, chocolate, toffee, and caramel, while the finish is smooth and creamy, leaving a long-lasting and gratifying sensation, the statement said.

Moreover, this exclusive bourbon is made from just two barrels to ensure a flavour profile that cannot be replicated.

In comparison, a standard batch of Woodford Reserve Bourbon typically consists of approximately 120 barrels, delivering a balanced taste across all five flavour categories.

Passengers flying First and Business Class will also have the opportunity to try the Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select, which has been the preferred choice for First-Class passengers for 15 years and recently extended to Business Class for the past five years.

Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select offers a harmonious blend of sweet, fruity, spicy, woody, and grain characteristics, creating a sensory spectacle.

With an investment of over $1 billion into its wine and spirits programme since 2006, the carrier aims to elevate the onboard experience for its customers.

This year alone, the airline plans to invest AED5.4 billion to maintain an exceptional food and beverage offering for passengers the world over.
