Dubai-headquartered business travel platform Tumodo announced its plans to expand its operations into India, after firmly establishing itself in the MENA region.

The company said it aims to capture five percent of the Indian travel market by 2027.

The India entry plans come after Tomodo closed a successful pre-seeding round recently.

Tumodo’s expansion

“We are excited to introduce Tumodo to India, a rapidly growing market with immense potential,” said Vladimir Kokorin, co-founder of Tumodo.

“We expect our platform to boost business travel booking in India and empower businesses to focus on what matters most – their core activities,” he said.

Kokorin said powered by AI technology, the platform allows businesses to find the best deals on flights, hotels, and other travel essentials with just a few clicks, saving them, on average, 35 percent on travel costs.

He said business travel spending in India grew by an impressive 24.7 percent in 2023, and is forecast to see a further increase of 18.3 percent in 2024.

“These figures indicate the increasing demand for efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable travel solutions in the country,” Kokorin said.

Tumodo’s entry plans in India come after it forged over 100 partnerships in the MENA region, including with Tabby and Azizi, with its services providing access to 400 airlines and 2 million housing options.

India is one of the top countries where business travellers also extend their business trips for a vacation.

The trend for ‘bleisure’ in India after the pandemic is gaining momentum, and according to experts, it is expected that up to 70 percent of people on business trips will extend their trip for rest.

With India, currently ranking as the 9th largest global market for business travel spending, Tumodo is hoping to garner a significant share of this burgeoning market.

India’s business travel spending is projected to reach over $38 billion by the end of 2024 and $49.5 billion by 2027.
