The Museum of the Future in Dubai has recorded over 3 million visitors from 177 countries since its opening on February 22, 2022.

The museum has established itself as a centre for Arab scientific innovation, hosting 380 events focused on future governments, space, technology, economy, and business.

It serves as the headquarters for the Global Futures Society, which unites 40 international foresight institutions, according to a statement by the Dubai Media Office (DMO).

Museum of the Future emerges as global hub for future technology events

“The Museum of the Future plays a leading role in driving global efforts to foster positive change and build a sustainable, human-centered future. It will continue to unify visions and aspirations, preparing the world for future opportunities in the coming years and decades,” Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Museum of the Future said, adding that the museum’s success is a testament of the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The institution hosted the region’s first AI Retreat in June, bringing together 1,000 decision-makers and experts.

It also organises the Dubai Future Forum, which attracted 3,500 experts from over 100 countries in its previous editions. The next forum is scheduled for November 19-20, 2024.

“Over the past three years, the museum has firmly cemented the region’s and the Arab world’s contribution in the journey of human knowledge and scientific progress. It has been instrumental in exploring the relationship between humans and technology in the future, inspiring youth to pursue their journey of learning, creativity and innovation with unrelenting curiosity and drive,” he added.

The museum’s educational initiatives include the Future Heroes summer camp, which featured Emirati astronauts Mohammed Al Mulla and Nora Al Matrooshi. It also conducted workshops on future jobs in sustainability and agricultural technology.

In April, the museum hosted the inaugural Gaming Matters Academy event, featuring representatives from Walt Disney, Ampverse, Epic Games, and EA Sports FC.

During Ramadan, the museum collaborated with Dubai Future Labs to organise sessions exploring technological advancement and digital transformation through Islamic principles.

The museum has received 470 media delegations and continues to serve as a destination for world leaders and government officials.
