Abu Dhabi’s Yas and Saadiyat Islands see surge in visitors

Abu Dhabi tourism boosted by domestic and international visitors to Yas and Saadiyat Islands

Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island and Saadiyat Island saw a surge in visitors over the summer period, according to data from Miral.

Yas Island witnessed a significant increase in domestic and international visitors, with a 72 per cent increase in visitation to Yas Theme Parks from GCC countries, followed by a 24 per cent increase in visitors from India.

Hotels on Yas Island recorded an 83 per cent occupancy rate throughout the summer season with a 29 per cent increase in international hotel guests, and a 90 per cent hotel occupancy rate in August 2024 alone.

Saadiyat Island, home to beaches, resorts, and cultural experiences, continued to draw visitors from around the globe, recording an occupancy rate of more than 65 per cent over summer, with a 73 per cent occupancy in August 2024.

Saadiyat Island’s summer hotel occupancy rose by 13 per cent compared to 2023, with international hotel guest arrivals growing by 19 per cent.
