The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has shut down Evergreen Vegetarian Restaurant – Branch 3 in Al Dhafra, after the authority found several violations that are a “danger to public health.”
The authority had previously inspected the restaurant, where multiple food safety violations were found.
Food safety violations lead to closure
This establishment has been found to have several violations, such as the presence of bugs near the sink, improper storage of utensils and food preparation areas, as well as inadequate cooling in the refrigerator and failure to maintain the appropriate temperature for ready-to-eat food.
While the restaurant was warned to rectify the situation, corrective measures were not taken, resulting in the authority issuing a closure order until the restaurant meets all the necessary health and safety requirements. These requirements are mandated by the Abu Dhabi law.
ADAFSA regularly conducts inspections at food outlets across Abu Dhabi to ensure all restaurant owners comply with these food safety requirements.
The authority calls on the public to report any violations via the Abu Dhabi Government toll free number 800555.
