The centrepiece of Bahrain’s new underwater theme park, which is due to open in August, has arrived at its destination – 20 metres below the surface of the sea.
According to the official Twitter page of Dive Bahrain, the 70-metre long decommissioned Boeing 747 aircraft is “Settling in nicely to her new home and looking forward to welcoming you in August.”

Previously it said divers had conducted final safety inspections before submerging the aircraft.
Situated off Diyar Al Muharraq, the aircraft will be anchored to the seabed to prevent it from moving around in strong currents.
In addition to the 747, the attraction, which authorities claim will be the world’s largest underwater theme park, will eventually cover a total area of 100,000 square metres.
