JRG Dubai managing director Emma Banks has resigned her position at the UAE-based restaurant management company less than six months after taking the job.
Sources told Caterer that she is preparing to take up a role at Hilton and will leave JRG Dubai, which is a part of Dubai Retail, on Thursday.
During her time at JRG Dubai, which she joined in 2013 before rising to general manager in 2015, Banks was pivotal in the launch of brands such as The Noodle House, The Duck Hook, and Hillhouse Brasserie, while refurbishing existing brands including Pierchic.
Banks said: “It has been an enormous privilege to have led JRG Dubai during an important period of transformation and growth. Our principal of balanced development has consolidated JRG Dubai’s financial performance, whilst simultaneously strengthening the brand portfolio ahead of further expansion.
“I leave my JRG Dubai family with genuine sadness, but also encouraged by the remarkable progress we’ve made. I am steadfast in the knowledge that the Group boasts an industry-leading team armed with a wealth of skill and experience that will continue to offer an exceptional array of dining experiences across a homegrown portfolio of diverse F&B concepts.”
Dubai Retail CEO Nabil Ramadhan added: “Dubai Retail and JRG Dubai are thankful for Emma’s years of service and leadership. Emma has steered JRG Dubai through an unprecedented era of success in the UAE’s increasingly competitive and challenging food and beverage landscape.
