Manchester Airport has cancelled all flights from Terminals 1 and 2 following a power cut in the local area that caused major disruption.
Passengers due to fly from Terminal 3 have been advised by Manchester Airport to come to the airport as planned unless you are contacted by your airline.
The airport also says it is “also working closely with airlines to reschedule cancelled flights in the coming days, adding that “flights scheduled for tomorrow should be unaffected and passengers due to travel should plan to come to the airport as usual.”
Manchester Airport boss issues apology to affected passengers
The airport’s managing director, Chris Woodroofe, also gave an apology himself to passengers on Sunday evening after all flights from Terminals 1 and 2 were called off.
He added although cancellations and delays would keep going on Sunday, he hoped regular operations would start again on Monday.
“When Terminal 1 and 2 can’t depart passengers for an entire morning there is going to be an impact.
“And I’m really sorry that happened and we’re now making sure as we look forward, that impact doesn’t carry on into tomorrow.”
He further revealed that an investigation into what happened would take place in the coming week.
