Saudi Air Force fighter jet crashes at King Abdulaziz Air Base

A Royal Saudi Air Force F-15S fighter jet crashed at the King Abdulaziz Air Base training area due to a technical malfunction, the country’s defence ministry said on Monday.

The fighter plane was on a routine training mission in the air base training area in the Eastern Province.

The aircrew, consisting of two officers, survived the crash after using their ejector seats, Brigadier General Turki Al-Malki, official spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence said, SPA reported.

“No injuries or ground damages have been reported,” the ministry’s spokesperson said.

“An investigation committee has commenced its tasks to probe the details and reasons behind this incident,” Al-Maliki said.
