The UAE quick delivery service sector will soon get a major boost with two of the home-grown market players – YallaHub, a quick-commerce-as-a-service (QaaS) platform, and WEE Marketplace, known for its fast delivery services – striking a partnership to launch the fastest 1-hour delivery in the country.
The partnership will see the two launching their fastest innovative solutions for sales and delivery, aimed to enhance the GCC e-commerce market and open new opportunities for local and overseas suppliers.
Leveraging a shop-in-shop format and making the UAE e-commerce omnichannel, YallaHub’s collaboration with WEE will facilitate the sale of goods through both YallaMarket and WEE marketplace.
“This collaboration with WEE Marketplace signifies a major step forward in our mission to revolutionise e-commerce through digitalisation in the UAE and GCC, making market entry and operations smoother both for customers and businesses,” Leo Dovbenko, CEO of YallaHub, told Arabian Business.
“With this partnership, we will be able to extend the reach of brands to a wider audience,” he added.
The new partnership model to debut in Dubai
The two ventures will launch their new partnership model first in Dubai, enabling consumers in the city to order goods with delivery within an hour.
For the rest of the emirates, the delivery period will be extended to the next day in the initial phase.
Following the partnership deal, WEE Marketplace, which operates like the American Target Plus model, will feature goods from YallaHub prominently on their platform.
“This partnership opens new horizons for brands, allowing them to enter at once both platforms,” Anastasia Kim, CEO and co-founder of WEE Marketplace, said.
“WEE Marketplace and YallaHub are absolute leaders of the UAE fast e-commerce market, and we choose the brands very carefully aiming to give the best products to our customers,” Kim said.
The WEE Marketplace chief executive said the joint efforts will further enable the company to continue its tradition of onboarding reliable suppliers and high-quality goods.
WEE, which has partnered with top companies in the region such as Careem and Talabat, claims to have a team of 50,000 couriers and capacity to handle over 100,000 orders per day.
Tie-up to help YallaHub to further strengthen its market positioning
For YallaHub, which aids businesses to enter the UAE market, the partnership is seen as a move to further accelerate the GCC e-commerce market digitalisation.
Besides, it will also help it to expand the activities on its platform to further cement its positioning in the market, enhancing its appeal to more and more international brands and suppliers.
Dovbenko said joining hands with WEE Marketplace will give a boost to the company’s efforts to provide brands with technologies and infrastructure to scale within the GCC region at a faster clip.
The company currently provides comprehensive services ranging from product assortment consultancy, logistics, and customs clearance to various marketing services to overseas companies and brands.
The venture raised $6 million in 2023 to fund its expansion into Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
