Middle Eastern airlines have taken three of the top five global awards for best passenger experience.
Qatar Airways scooped two top spots for best seat comfort and food & beverage in the 2022 Airline Passenger Experience (APEX) Passenger Choice Awards in Dublin.
Emirates came first in the best entertainment category while Taiwan’s Eva was best for cabin service and US airline Delta had the best wifi.
Regionally, best overall airline in the Middle East was Qatar Airways, while for Africa it was Air Austral, a small airline based in Reunion in the Indian Ocean.
UAE’s national airline Etihad took home the Passenger Choice Award for best entertainment in the Middle East.
Its E-BOX entertainment contains over 200 movies, more than 350 TV shows, 15 radio channels and 800 albums in a variety of genres and languages.
On the airline’s newest A350 aircraft, the latest features include wireless charging in Business class and Bluetooth headset pairing throughout the aircraft.
