Customers can now opt for inter-country travel from Saudi Arabia to Doha for FIFA World Cup 2022, via a Careem booking, the company announced on Tuesday.
“Inter-country rides to and from KSA, to Qatar will allow residents to book a more affordable and hassle-free travel experience. Customers can book a ride to Doha only one day in advance, for a car that can accommodate up to three passengers,” the company said in an emailed statement.
The taxi service will cost about SAR 1,000 ($266.10) to go from any destination in Dammam of Al-Ahsa to Doha, a Careem spokesperson confirmed to Arabian Business.
Careem has expanded its fleet size in Qatar by over 50 percent ahead of the World Cup.
Customers can now book inter-country rides to and from Dammam and Al-Ahsa to Doha, enabling them to reach World Cup football matches without hassle.
In its expansion efforts, Careem’s fleet has also seen an addition of 1,000 cars, all which were added over a period of several months.
“Careem is incredibly proud to support the region’s first World Cup in Qatar. Doha was the first market Careem expanded to in 2013, and now in 2022 it’s been an honor to work with local and international partners to ensure that residents and tourists can easily travel across countries and cities to experience this global event,” Careem’s general manager in the GCC, Antonio Al Asmar said.
Careem cars at Doha International Airport and Hamad International Airport will also provide visitors direct access to all eight World Cup stadiums, and have also dedicated Careem pickup lanes, the company said.
“City-to-city rides are also available to those attending multiple matches, and customers in Qatar can take advantage of exclusive packages that allow them to book multiple rides at a discounted price,” Careem said.
Additionally, the transport service provider will offer its customers a “zero-wait-time solution” using a one-time-password (OTP) code, across all stadiums.
Customers can request for their OTP when adding their pickup spot on the app and will need to provide the code to a Careem captain by the pickup lane, the statement said, adding that dedicated captains will be waiting at the pickup lanes outside all eight stadiums.
