Dubai’s RTA recorded around 2.3m trips on public transport on New Year’s Eve

Dubai saw massive numbers of public transport journeys on New Year’s Eve, according to official Roads and Transport Authority figures.

A total of 2,288,631 passengers used various public transport means on New Year’s Eve 2024 in the city.

RTA confirmed that it was a smooth and safe ride for passengers to and from the New Year’s Eve celebration venues, thanks to an integrated plan well-coordinated with concerned entities.

The Roads and Transport Authority reported that:

• Metro’s Red and Green lines: 974,416
• Taxis: 590,869
• Public Buses: 401,510
• E-hail vehicles: 167,051
• Marine transport: 97,261
• Tram: 56,208
• Shared transport vehicles: 1,316
