Dubai announces free parking and Metro, bus times for public holiday

Dubai’s RTA announces service times and free parking for Prophet’s Birthday holiday

Dubai will have free parking and updated public transport times during the holiday to mark the Prophet’s Birthday.

On Friday, September 29 Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority will experience changes in the time of all its services covering customer happiness centres, paid parking zones, public buses, Dubai Metro and Tram, marine transport means, and service provider centres (technical testing of vehicles).

Except for the multi-level parking terminals, all public parking will be free on Friday, September 29 and the parking fees will be reactivated on September 30.

Free parking in Dubai

Dubai Metro service will be running on both the red and green lines from 5am to 1am (of the following day).

Dubai Tram will operate from 6am to 1am (of the following day).

The timings of the Dubai Bus network on Friday, September 29 will be from 5am to 12.30am (of the following day).

All metro link bus services will be synchronised with the metro timetables.

The inter-city bus routes currently operating, are:

  • E16 from Al Sabkha to Hatta
  • E100 from Al Ghubaiba to Abu Dhabi
  • E101 from Ibn Battuta to Abu Dhabi
  • E102 from Al Jaffiliya to Mussafah Community
  • E201 from Al Ghubaiba To Al Ain
  • E303 from the Union Station to Al Jubail in Sharjah
  • E306 from Al Ghubaiba to Al Jubail in Sharjah
  • E307 from City Centre Deira to Al Jubail in Sharjah
  • E307A from Abu Hail to Al Jubail in Sharjah
  • E315 from Etisalat Station to Muwaileh in Sharjah
  • E400 from the Union Station to Ajman
  • E411 from the Etisalat Station to Ajman
  • E700 from the Union Station to Fujairah

Timings for marine transport will be:

Water Bus

  • Dubai Marina (BM1) Marina Mall – Marina Walk (and vice versa) from midday to 12.11am (on the following day)
  • Marina Promenade – Marina Mall from 04.11pm to 11.45pm
  • Marina Terrace – Marina Walk from 4.08pm to 11.52pm
  • Full line from 4.08pm to 11.28pm

Water Taxi

  • Marina Mall – Bluewaters (BM3) from 4pm to 11.40pm
  • On demand from 3pm to 11pm. Customers must make a prior booking

Abra

  • Old Souq – Baniyas (CR3) from 10am – 11.20pm
  • Al Fahidi – Sabkha (CR4) from 9.30am – 11.40pm
  • Al Fahidi – Deira Old Souq (CR5) from 9.30am – 11.15pm
  • Baniyas – Seef (CR6) from 10am – 11.50pm
  • Festival City – Creek Harbor (CR9) from 4pm – 11.20pm
  • Al Jaddaf – Festival City (BM2) from 8am – 11.50pm
  • Al Marfa Souq – Old Souq (CR12) from 4.20pm – 10.50pm
  • Al Marfa Souq – Deira Old Souq (CR13) from 4.05pm to 10.35pm
  • Tourist service from the Sheikh Zayed Road Station (TR6) from 4pm – 10.15pm

Dubai Ferry

  • Al Ghubaiba – Dubai Water Canal (FR1) at 1pm and 6pm
  • Dubai Water Canal – Al Ghubaiba (FR1) at 2.25pm and 7.25pm
  • Dubai Water Canal – Bluewaters (FR2) at 1.50pm and 6.50pm
  • Bluewaters – Marina Mall (FR2) at 2.55pm and 7.55pm
  • Marina Mall – Bluewaters (FR2) at 1pm and 6pm
  • Bluewaters – Dubai Water Canal (FR2) at 1.20pm and 6.20pm
  • Bluewaters – Marina Mall (FR2) at 2.55pm and 7.55pm

Additionally, there will be tourist trips:

  • From Marina Mall (FR4) at 11:30 am and 4:30 pm
  • Sharjah Aquarium – Al Ghubaiba (FR5) at 2pm, 4pm and 6pm
  • Al Ghubaiba – Sharjah Aquarium (FR5) at 3pm, 5pm and 8pm
  • Al Marfa Souq – Al Ghubaiba (CR10) from 6.15pm – 9.45pm

Service provider centres will be closed during this holiday and resume duty on Saturday, September 30.

All customer happiness centres will be closed during the holiday, whereas the smart customer happiness centres at Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Kafaf, and RTA Head Office, which will continue service 24/7 as usual.
