A Bahraini Prince was thrown off a British Airways flight in London and arrested for being drunk and disorderly, it has been reported.
The 28-year old, who was not named but is believed to be a close relative of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, jumped from his seat and went to complain to the captain about the “poor” service before the Boeing 777 took off from Heathrow to Bahrain.
Members of the crew were forced to call the police after he refused to go back to his seat. He was then removed from the plane and taken to a West London police station.
A police spokesperson confirmed the incident. “We were called at 10.34am on Sunday July 22 to an outward bound flight to Doha, Qatar, via Bahrain at London Heathrow after a man was reported to be causing a disturbance.
“A man who is 28 was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and failing to comply with the instructions of the cabin crew. He was taken to a west London police station and bailed to a date in September.”
A BA spokesman confirmed a passenger “was off-loaded from the London to Bahrain service” and appeared to be “intoxicated”.
