The suspension of Boeing 737 Max operations has led to the cancellation of almost 500 flights in Oman.
The sultanate’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation’s (PACA) issued a directive on March 12 suspending the operations of Boeing 737 Max 8.
Oman’s national carrier, which had five Boeing 737 MAX 8 in operation, has issued an updated list of flights that will be cancelled over the next month, covering up until April 30.
In total, Omar Air has cancelled 478, with the affected destiinations including Salalah, Bahrain, Dubai, Riyadh, Doha, Kuwait, Kenya, Karachi, Amman, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Calicut and Goa.
“As a result of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation directives on suspending operations of Boeing 737 Max, we have cancelled the following flights in the period between 28th March and 30th April 2019,” Oman Air said.
“We are rebooking guests on alternative/next available flights to their destinations. We advise all our guests who are due to travel during the same period to check for flight status on www.omanair.com/FlightStatus or contact our call centre +96824531111,” the airline added.
