Dubai’s public transport regulator, along with Dubai Police, Dubai Civil Defense and other companies and authorities, had earlier outlined a comprehensive plan to manoeuvre crowds and minimise disruptive traffic incidents through a combination of road blocks, additional resources, and free services.

Dubai Metro and Trams carried the highest number of passengers at 870,352, approximately 43.5 percent of all public transport visits recorded on the night.

According the RTA on Twitter, 545,859 passengers also paid for taxis, while 390,061 used buses. Roughly three percent of passengers used marine services including water taxis.
