UAE Met warns of blowing and suspended dust

Several multi-vehicle traffic accidents on Sheikh Zayed Road towards Abu Dhabi bought traffic to a standstill, causing tailbacks of up to three kilometres.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Dubai Police reported a multi-vehicle traffic accident on Sheikh Zayed Road before Dubai Parks bridge towards Abu Dhabi.

“There were at least three accidents on the highway to Abu Dhabi, leading to causing tailbacks,” a witness told Arabian Business.

Separately, the UAE Met department warned of blowing and suspended dust with visibility 2000 metres in Al Dhafrah.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology also warned of “hot to very hot” weather in general with moderate winds causing blowing dust and sand over exposed areas especially to north.
