Red Sea Global, Zain KSA partner to launch world’s first zero-carbon 5G network

This network promises high 5G connectivity speeds for guests while operating entirely on renewable energy

World's First Zero-Carbon 5G Network Launched at The Red Sea Resort

Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Global (RSG) has signed a new partnership with Zain to introduce the world’s first zero-carbon 5G network. This was officially announced at the Six Senses Southern Dunes resort.

Designed exclusively for The Red Sea, the zero-carbon 5G network is the latest innovation to be the resort.

With a focus on the relationship between technology and environmental well-being, this network promises high 5G connectivity speeds for guests while operating entirely on renewable energy.

This energy is harnessed from over 760,000 solar panels meticulously installed by Red Sea Global across the sprawling 28,000-kilometre square destination.

“We aspire to be global pioneers of regenerative tourism development, adopting 100 percent renewable energy at our flagship destination, The Red Sea, and working towards the achievement of a 30 percent net conservation benefit by 2040. These ambitious goals demand ambitious partners, and our collaboration with Zain KSA transcends telecommunications, extending into sustainability and environmental protection,” John Pagano, Group CEO at Red Sea Global said.

“By collaborating with ‘Red Sea Global,’ one of the world’s most visionary developers in sustainable development, we reaffirm our commitment to a shared vision that balances achieving human prosperity with the preservation of nature and its sustainability for future generations, as outlined by Saudi Vision 2030,” Eng. Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al-Deghaither, CEO of Zain KSA added.

The project, which utilised innovative 3D printing technology, boasts three primary objectives: safeguarding the environment, minimising emissions through renewable energy use, and reducing visual impact.

Drawing inspiration from the natural rock formations surrounding the resort, the towers blend in with the environment.

Scheduled to welcome its first guests later this year, The Red Sea is set to become a hub for tourism.

Comprising 50 resorts, offering 8,000 hotel rooms, and over 1,000 residential properties spread across 22 islands and six inland sites, the destination will be a testament to sustainable luxury.

Marinas, golf courses, entertainment venues, dining, and leisure facilities will complete the holistic experience.
