Meta’s WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature which allows users to hide their online status, which comes up when a user opens the mobile application.
The feature is part of the company’s efforts to increase user privacy.
By default, the messenger app sets your privacy settings to allows users to see your last seen and online, however, this can be changed by tapping the settings tab on your mobile application.
On hiding the last seen and online feature, users will also not be allowed to see their contacts’ last seen and online status.
Contacts can still see when a user is typing a message.
