The Dubai Metaverse Assembly, organised by the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) is said to host the likes of the World Economic Forum, Meta, Mastercard, Emirates, and Accenture, among other global organisations.

The Dubai Metaverse Assembly will take place at the emirate’s iconic landmark – the Museum of the Future and Emirates Towers, AREA 2071– and will run from September 28 to 29.

Launched by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the assembly will welcome over 300 global experts and over 40 specialised organisations.

The assembly will open a platform for the participants to discuss, explore and shape the future of the metaverse.

“This global assembly will facilitate synergies amongst the most pioneering and innovative private and government entities, building exciting use cases in web 3.0 and the metaverse,” Dubai Metaverse Assembly’s director Hamad Al Shirawi said.

Al Shirawi added the assembly will also “bring together policymakers, academia, startups and corporates to explore these technologies and their impact,” in the metaverse.

Specialised workshops will be included, aimed at capitalising in the metaverse, creating tangible outcomes, and improving the quality of life in both the real and virtual worlds.

“The event also aims to elevate the readiness of the UAE government for the metaverse by providing a platform for discussions and collaboration,” the statement said, adding discussions will “identify the opportunities of the metaverse and harness its potential.”

Dubai Metaverse Assembly will host a set of meetings involving exceptional speakers to guide participants through the experiences of the metaverse and its associated technologies.

The assembly is part of the emirate’s dedicated strategy to boost the contribution of the metaverse to the economy.

“The metaverse is a promising digital world. We aim to harness this technology to enhance the quality of life in the UAE and across the globe,” the Dubai crown prince said. “We want Dubai to lead globally in adopting the technology of the future, understanding its developments, harnessing its potential, and driving change.”

The metaverse market is expected to reach up to $30 trillion within 15 years.
