Apple has unveiled its new iPhone 14. The new version of the technology giant’s flagship product will come in two sizes with five colour options and features improved battery life.
The iPhone 14 will be available in 6.1 and 6.7 inch screens in black, white, blue, purple, and red and will launch on October 7, 2022, with preorders opening September 9, 2022.
The phone is 18 percent faster than its predecessor, a change which will give gamers a better experience, Apple said.
iPhone 14 also features a new true depth camera for selfies with a faster focus, along with a new crash detection feature.
All US versions of iPhone 14 are now eSIM only, and will no longer have a SIM tray.
Apple also unveiled a new emergency service system dubbed Emergency SOS. The new service is powered by satellite connection. The iPhone 14 will come with two years of Emergency SOS, with the service first launching in the US and Canada.
New iPhone 14 Pro
The new iPhone 14 Pro will launch with four different colours and features a new notification system named Dynamic Island. The Dynamic Island notification area constantly remains active and is aimed at improving how notifications are handled.
iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max features a 2000 nits display, the brightest display ever in an iPhone. Apple also revealed that the iPhone 14 Pro will feature an always on display.
Apple announced that the iPhone 14 Pro would be powered by the firm’s new A16 Bionic chip, a faster, more power-efficient chipset, with a five-core GPU.
iPhone 14 Pro features a 48 megapixel camera, compared to the iPhone 14’s 12 megapixel camera. The camera has also been updated for a cinematic video function which shoots in 4K and features all-day battery life, Apple said.
The iPhone 14 Pro is available for preorder on September 9, and will launch on September 16.
