Royals greenlight 25 projects to drive Dubai 10X initiative

Sheikh Hamdan and Sheikh Maktoum back projects which aim to put Dubai 10 years ahead of other cities

Dubai Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on Wednesday greenlighted 25 projects which aim to put Dubai 10 years ahead of other cities.

Sheikh Hamdan and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, deputy Ruler of Dubai viewed some of the Dubai Future Foundation’s top initiatives submitted under the Dubai 10X Program, which were shortlisted from a total of 163 entries by a panel of private sector experts.

No details were given about the specific aims of the 25 projects.

The Dubai 10X Program, launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai at the World Government Summit in February, ushers in a new era of government work, where officials prioritise the community and people’s happiness, and establish future forecasting as a central component of government activities.

The Dubai Future Foundation is working with other government entities to embrace disruptive innovation as a fundamental mantra of their operations and to seek ways to incorporate its methodologies in all aspects of their work and place Dubai 10 years ahead of other cities.

A requirement for the participating entities was to create independent X-Units whose mandate is finding ways to disrupt their own organisations practices and develop their own “moonshot solutions”.

They also plan to partner with and facilitate disruptive solutions and remove regulatory obstacles.
