The UAE is set to announce the new petrol prices for the month of August next week.
The petrol prices across the country went up in July following a reduction in June.
Prices have fluctuated in the past 12 months, but are significantly lower than this time last year.
UAE petrol and diesel prices
The cost of diesel in the UAE has fallen even further. This month it costs AED2.76 per litre for diesel at the country’s fill-up stations, compared to AED4.76 in the corresponding period last year.
Despite an annual fall. Special 95, Super 98, and E-Plus all increased in June, while diesel prices also went up.
Prices for petrol were at the highest this year in May, while diesel was recorded at the lowest in June.
Since July 1, the cost of filling up vehicles in the UAE has been:
- Special 95 – AED2.89 litre from AED2.84 in June
- Super 98 – AED3.00 a litre from AED2.95 in June
- E-Plus – AED2.81 a litre from AED2.76 in June
- Diesel – AED2.76 a litre from AED2.68 in June

Prices were frozen by the Fuel Price Committee due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. The controls were later removed in March 2021 to align with rising oil prices globally.
Moreover, petrol prices are also affected by an increase in crude oil prices across the world.
