Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport has welcomed a massive new duty free market as the Saudi capital looks to enhance aviation and tourism in the Kingdom.
Abdulaziz Al Duailej, president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and Ayman Abu Ababa, CEO of Riyadh Airports, inspected the site and were briefed on developments at Terminals 1 and 2.
Al Duailej called on retailers at the duty free market to offer more variety to shoppers and provide international brands of perfumes, electronics and leather products.

The leasable space in the duty-free market has more than doubled to 4,700sq m from around 2,000sq m.
The enhanced retail facility is located at Terminal 3 of King Khalid International Airport.
Terminals 1 and 2 are also being upgraded, with a project to develop two lounges and an increase in capacity of 40 per cent to reach 14m passengers a year from 10m passengers.
Internal space will be increased along with the area of the commercial areas in the duty free market of the two lounges.
