Dubai officially has its own Chinatown, now open in Dubai Mall. The area is decorated with giant LED signs and visitors can take pictures with a massive panda.
Visitors enter through an ornately engraved golden gate, the area features Asian elements including red lanterns, cherry blossoms and inspired infrastructure.
“Chinatown is the latest addition to Dubai Mall, located on the first floor opposite the Dubai Ice Rink with direct access to Address Fountain Views – bringing you the authentic Asian experience,” the website reads.
There is also an Asian-themed food court for visitors to try multiple Asian food options. Currently, a few restaurants are open with more set to open soon.
A spa is also open at the location, for visitors to stop by for a quick unwinding session or a massage amid shopping in the various stores at Chinatown.
Earlier this year, The Dubai Mall revealed a name change through a short video on TikTok. The Dubai Mall is now called Dubai Mall.
The minor name change eliminated one word from the title – ‘The’.
The video has since been deleted from Dubai Mall’s TikTok account.
