A first-of-its kind Thai-inspired shopping destination is expected to open in Bahrain in the fourth quarter of this year.
In an announcement on Saturday, Vega Thaimart said it signed up Crown Electro – Mechanical Services as the main contractor for the project that will be located within Bahrain’s Diyar Al Muharraq development.
Once it opens, ThaiMart will be the region’s first “Thai-inspired” shopping destination.
“With stable development on both construction and leasing, immeasurable support from Diyar Al Muharraq and different Thailand government sectors, we look forward to launching ThaiMart to the public during the last quarter of this year and offer a unique and diverse shopping experience for the families and visitors,” said Vega ThaiMart CEO Akavut Tangilikusonwong.
According to Vega Thaimart, approximately 60 percent of the rental spaces at the upcoming development have already been leased.
The facility is slated for handover on or before October 1. By then, the developers say, the site will be open for most mall tenants to come in and begin their fit-out work.
ThaiMart will highlight products from various Thai retailers, as well as have a foodcourt with Thai and international restaurants, jewellery zones and a specialised children’s area.
