The UAE announced on Monday a rise in all fuel prices for the month of May following an increase last month.
The country’s Fuel Price Committee said that Super 98 petrol will cost AED2.48 per litre from May 1, up from AED2.23 a litre in April, while Special 95 will cost AED2.34 a litre, up from AED2.11 a litre.
The price of diesel has also been revised upwards to AED2.53 a litre from AED2.49 a litre in April.
Fuel prices in the UAE were liberalised in August 2015, so they now move with the market.
Prices in the UAE peaked during the summer as Brent oil spiked at $86 a barrel in October – the highest level since November 2014.
