Dubai's Jumeirah Bay Island sees second most expensive property deal at $32.6m

The record-breaking sale of the dual plots is the largest deal, in terms of area, to be completed on the island so far.

At 66,000 square feet, a double residential plot of land on Jumeirah Bay Island has become Dubai’s second most expensive transaction to date with a price tag of over AED100 million ($32.6m).

The record-breaking sale of the dual plots is the largest deal, in terms of area, to be completed on the island so far. The two plots occupy the most coveted position on the island, and both have views over the sea and Burj Khalifa.

Dubai-based Luxhabitat Sotheby’s International Realty sold the plots to an anonymous buyer.

Nestled off the coast between Downtown Dubai and World Islands, Jumeirah Bay Island is sculpted in the shape of a titanic seahorse.

The plots are to be developed into a mega mansion by architecture firm DDA, which has already received approvals to build. Termed ‘The Kohinoor of Jumeirah Bay’, the plans for the mansion have been inspired by the seaside location and its sunset hues. A grand lobby with a grand staircase, multiple gathering spaces, a spa, cinema, private swimming pool, formal and informal dining rooms, and several suite style bedrooms feature as part of the plans for the villa.

Nestled off the coast between Downtown Dubai and World Islands, Jumeirah Bay Island is sculpted in the shape of a titanic seahorse and, with its stunning views, is one of the most sought-after addresses in Dubai for the rich and famous.  It is also home to Bulgari Resort & Residences, a luxurious resort with the world’s first Bulgari Yacht Club. Over AED1.8bn in sales have been recorded this year, based on data from the Dubai Land Department.

The agent responsible for the double plot transaction was Dr. Taieser Al Saati, associate director of Luxhabitat Sotheby’s International Realty.

Al Saati has been with Luxhabitat Sotheby’s for four years and has firmly cemented his position of having sold the most valuable properties this year to date, having also recently sold the most expensive villa deal of the year at AED121m ($32.9m) in Dubai.

“At Luxhabitat Sotheby’s International Realty, we get to work with the world’s most extraordinary properties and working here is a dream come true – at a time when the international market is looking to us as a leading destination for investment and growth. This double plot on Jumeirah Bay Island is just the beginning, there is much more to come,” said Al Saati.
