Platinumlist, a leading online ticketing platform in MENA, announced the launch of a new in-app fan-to-fan ticket resale feature that allows users to securely buy and sell tickets for various events and concerts within the app marketplace.

The new feature allows fans to safely resell tickets directly within the app, protecting buyers from scalpers and giving real fans a fair chance to access tickets, the company said.

The platform’s new in-app will offer tickets to fans who missed out on the initial sales directly from other users.

Its new resale feature integrates seamlessly with ‘Safe Tickets’, another company product, enhancing security through dynamic QR codes that refresh continuously to prevent fraud and outdated ticket issues.

The new app launch is to address the increasing demand for fair resale options, the company said.

“Our internal data shows that 70 per cent of users resell tickets at the original price, while the remaining 30 per cent apply an average markup of just 45 per cent, far below the typical 300 per cent seen on the secondary market,” Platinumlist said in a media release.

The platform said its new in-app resale feature is now live in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.

“This ethical resale approach turns a traditionally problematic secondary market into a fair, secure space for real fans,” the company said.

“If users change their mind, they can easily adjust their ticket listings, modify pricing, or choose different resale options through a user-friendly interface,” it said.

Platinumlist said its secure resale option will also protect event organisers’ reputation, prevent price inflation, and improve fan experience.

“This is particularly important for major artists like Taylor Swift, who often face challenges with ticket fraud and inflated prices in the secondary market,” the company said.

“It’s enriching to develop a product that brings value to everyone involved — the organiser, the attendee, and the artist,” said Cosmin Ivan, CEO of Platinumlist.
