The Kuwait Ministry of Information announced that legal action has been initiated against a Kuwaiti TV cast. The action was taken in regards to a scene from a series streamed on platform ‘Shahid’, which was deemed insulting towards Kuwaiti society.

The removal of the series came hours after the ministry confirmed that any component of Kuwaiti society cannot be attacked in any form including symbols, citizens, residents or any other media work.

The ministry put out a post on Twitter reaffirming its action.

The Arabic free video streaming service Shahid topped the list of 16 countries including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Yemen.

Shahid describes the series “Flight 422” as “a group of hijackers capture Kuwait Airways Flight 422 and force it to reroute, putting the lives of the passengers and the crew at risk.”

The URL for the series currently leads to a blank page “Page not found. The page you are looking for has been moved, removed, or renamed.”
