UAE-based Australian radio presenter Kris Fade is set to star in Netflix’s new show Dubai Bling, a source revealed to Arabian Business.
The show will follow the lives of 10 millionaires in Dubai, and will be released on October 27.
Kris Fade is a radio presenter and star of breakfast radio show “The Kris Fade Show” on Virgin Radio Dubai, and will star in the show, an Arabian Business source said.
In a statement on the announcement of Dubai Bling, Netflix said the show would focus on the city’s “melting pot of cultures,” adding that the stars of the show are “some well-known faces from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Kuwait and Iraq as well as expats from as far afield as India and Australia, who now call Dubai home.”
“Set against the backdrop of luxury cars, runway-fresh fashion, exotic resorts and exclusive access to the city’s most popular restaurants and late-night hotspots, we follow the cast in their daily lives. It’s not long before the competition between friends heats up and secrets are revealed, causing problems, sassy clapbacks and a whole lot of drama,” the statement said.
The shows announcement comes as a slew of reality TV shows begin airing in the UAE. The Real Housewives of Dubai, which focuses on six women and their lives in the city, began in June 2022.
Earlier this month, a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) committee has asked Netflix to remove certain content from its streaming platform, amid concerns some of it contradicts the region’s media laws.
