Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD Group), the largest operator of integrated and purpose-built economic zones in the UAE, announced signing a land lease agreement with Abu Dhabi-based Gulf Printing & Packaging Co (GPP) for a new expansion of its facilities in KEZAD Al Ma’mourah.
The current expansion of more than 45,000 square meters will brings GPP’s total footprint in KEZAD to more than 67,000 square meters, the free zone operator said in a media statement.
This is their second expansion since 2021, which effectively triples the size of the facility the company occupies in KEZAD Al Ma’mourah.
GPP’s facility in KEZAD is the largest of its kind in the UAE, and it houses the latest hi-tech printing and packaging machinery.
It is also the largest food-grade packaging manufacturing facility in the Emirate.
Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed, CEO, KEZAD Group said the free zone is proud to host Gulf Printing & Packaging’s unique and largest facility in its food ecosystem.
“As we continue to develop integrated business ecosystems, we also ensure that industrial development goes hand in hand with environmental responsibility,” he said.
Samer Hassan, General Manager of GPP, said the company’s location in the KEZAD food ecosystem will ensure that food-grade packaging of the highest quality is accessible right next door to KEZAD’s major clients in the food sector.
“It will also be a major contributor to both the UAE’s aim for global food security and the establishment of a circular economy,” he said.
