K-pop boy band Exo are the latest to be awarded a Dubai Star on Downtown Dubai’s Hollywood-inspired Walk of Fame.
Dubai Stars are meant to pay tribute to personalities who have positively influenced the world through their work in various fields including music, film, art, architecture, sports, and literature as well as social influencers.

The first 400 stars, which will be located along Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, are chosen based on public nominations.
Exo will join the 400 featured celebrities who will launch their respective star in October during the first phase of Dubai Stars.
The band which initially comprised 12 members is now made up of nine artists, each boasting a solo single career as well.
The group which was formed in 2011 are regular visitors to Dubai, having performed at the Autism Rocks Arena as part of the SM Town Live World Tour VI.
Exo, whose hits include Love Shot and Power, have had their music played at the Dubai Fountain, and their faces projected onto the Burj Khalifa during a three-minute LED light and sound show last year.
Leading developer Emaar, the force behind Dubai Stars, announced the project in March this year.
It said the Walk of Fame will feature 10,000 stars. Celebrities who are set to receive their own star include footballer Lionel Messi, poet Khalil Gibran, Saudi singer Abdul Majeed Abdullah, fashion designer Elie Saab, actor Shah Rukh Khan as well as another K-pop band BTS.
