A Dubai-based engineering firm has announced a four-day working week for employees during the holy month of Ramadan.
Scientechnic, one of the largest engineering solutions companies in the UAE and part of the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, has given employees the option of taking Thursdays or Sundays off so they can enjoy a three-day weekend during the holy month.
The company employs 700 employees from 16 nationalities.
Scientechnic CEO, Easa F. Al Gurg said in a press statement: “We started this initiative last year in celebration of the Year of Zayed and apart from strengthening the spirit of solidarity within the company, at an individual level it gave everyone the opportunity to balance work with other activities – be it worship, time with family and friends, or giving back to society.
“I believe that a three day weekend will give our diverse workforce the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the significance of the Holy Month. Through this initiative, we aim to not only show appreciation to our committed staff but also thank their families for the continued support and encouragement in making Scientechnic what it is today.”
