Eid holiday for UAE public sector announced

First day of Eid break will begin on Thursday, June 14

Eid al-Fitr holidays for the federal entities in the UAE will begin on Thursday, June 14th and will last until the third Shawwal, which will either coincide with Sunday, June 17 or Monday, June 18.

The official start of Eid Al Fitr is subject to the moon sighting. If Eid falls on Friday, government departments will close until Sunday and reopen on Monday. If it falls on Saturday they will stay closed on Monday and resume activities on Tuesday.

Private sector holidays have not yet been announced but are expected to follow soon.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, which announced the dates, also offered greetings on the occasion to the people of the UAE and Arab and Islamic nations around the world.
