The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces on Thursday announced the death of a soldier while carrying out his duties within the operations of the Arab Coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, to back the legitimate government in Yemen.
The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces offered its condolences to the family of Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah Al-Hosani, state news agency WAM reported.
The UAE has been playing a key role in the Saudi-led campaign in support of President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi’s government after Iran-backed Huthi rebels forced him into exile.
More than 8,600 people have been killed since the coalition joined the Yemen war in 2015, according to the World Health Organisation.
