The UAE has crossed over a million Covid-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, according to the latest data shown by the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority.

The country’s overall cases stands at 1,000,556, after 919 new cases were reported on Tuesday.

Recoveries reached a total number of 979,362, whereas 179,231,298 PCR tests were conducted over the past two years.

Vaccine doses administered reached 24,922,054.

Active cases now stand at 18,857 across the seven emirates, with total number of deaths in the past two years reaching 2,337.

The UAE continues to ensure the safety of all citizens, residents and tourists through safety protocols, travel guidelines, social distancing measures, and administration of the vaccine, making it one of the safest countries in the world to visit.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) praised the UAE’s efficient and quick response to the pandemic, among other GCC states.

The government implemented distance learning and work from home policies to contain the COVID-19 spread, besides ordering the closures of entertainment and social events, tourist sites, public beaches, commercial centres and shopping malls, during the onset of the pandemic.

Today, the country has seen a strong rebound across all sectors in the economy, and is the venue of choice for upcoming global events and holidays.
