Emirates Health Services, Burjeel Hospital sign MoU to bolster health services in government schools

The agreement is in line with the sustainable development goals in public health

Emirates Health Services (EHS) and Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery, Dubai, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster the delivery of health services within government schools.

The agreement is in line with the sustainable development goals in public health, and developing the medical environment in schools, enhancing student awareness through educational programmes, improving counselling and therapeutic services, and expanding community partnerships.

Emirates Health Services’ collaboration goal

The MoU signing occurred in the presence of Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emirates Health Services; Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al-Serkal, Director-General of Emirates Health Services, and Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder and Chairman of Burjeel Holdings.

Dr. Al Olama said the MoU’s objective is to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the Emirates Health Services and Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery in healthcare and continuous development.

“Emirates Health Services is keen to expand cooperation through joint projects and programmes that benefit the healthcare sector, thus contributing to enhancing healthcare tools and the quality of services provided to patients,” he said.


Dr. Al-Serkal said the agreement represents a significant step towards improving and expanding the scope of healthcare services for the community at large, with a particular focus on school students.

“The cooperation and coordination between the two entities create an opportunity for knowledge and expertise sharing, continuous improvement of health operations and advanced technology, and the fulfillment of Emirates Health Services’ strategic objectives aimed at enhancing the quality of health in government schools and promoting health awareness among male and female students,” he said.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil said the MoU is a testament to the expertise of the group.

“This collaboration is a great opportunity for knowledge exchange between our two entities. We are focused on delivering the highest level of healthcare to beneficiaries and bringing about positive change in the lives of the people we serve,” he said.
