The Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries & Medical Appliances Corporation (SPIMACO) and AstraZeneca have opened a new joint venture manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia.
The new factory of hazardous drugs is located on an area of 2800 square meters in Qassim region at a total cost of 272 million riyals.
Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud, Governor of Qassim region, inaugurated the new facility on the sidelines of the opening of Qassim Investment Forum held in the region.
On the occasion, the governor said investments in new such projects would create job opportunities for local people.
The new factory consists of three floors that include manufacturing and packaging zones, a laboratory for quality control.
It also has a technical services’ zone that includes a water treatment system and wastewater treatment in line with international requirements for the manufacture of hazardous drugs.
