The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has revealed the first, fully autonomous artificial intelligence (AI) medical fitness centre in the GCC.
SALEM Innovative Centre was showcased as part of DHA’s participation in the UAE Innovation Month 2018.
It is the first centre of its kind to utilise AI and the Internet of Things (IoT) to provide medical fitness and health screening services without human interference.
Visitors will also be able to complete all medical fitness tests required for an employment visa, according to Maisa Al Bustani, director of the Medical Fitness Services Department at DHA.
The centre uses AI technology to identify customers via their facial and iris print. It then conducts the tests using a specialised robot. Once the tests are completed, the system automatically sends the results to the concerned parties. Customers will also be able to make payment through smart channels including Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, mPay and ePay.
The centre will take vital measures such as BMI, weight and height using a smart scale machine, which sends them to the SALEM central system electronically.
Al Bustani said the government service is completely paperless and requires no data entry, eliminating the possibility of errors.
The AI and IoT solutions are provided by ConSol Gulf. The firm’s chief executive Dr. Fadi Hatamleh said its partnership with DHA will pave the way for the adoption of the technologies in every aspect of the medical industry.
