UAE secured 44.1% of Japan’s crude oil needs in February

The UAE secured 44.1 percent – or 31.3 million barrels – of Japan’s crude oil needs in February 2024.

The total amount of crude that Japan imported during February this year amounted to around 71 million barrels, of which, 68.74 million barrels – or 96.7 percent – originated from five Arab countries: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman, according to the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy in Tokyo.

The agency is part of the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
