Energy giant Saudi Aramco has awarded a major engineering project consisting of 28 offshore jackets to a consortium of L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Ltd (LTHE) and EMAS, a Subsea7 company.
The proposed offshore jacket projects will be in Zuluf, Marjan and Sfaniya and Ribyan Offshore fields of Saudi Arabia, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the Indian engineering and construction major, said in a regulatory filing on Thursday.
L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Ltd (LTHE) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of L&T.
“L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering’s fabrication facilities in Middle East and India are fully equipped to execute these challenging projects,” the company said.
The company did not disclose the value of the project contract for the 28 offshore jackets.
Offshore jackets are the steel frames supporting the deck and the topsides of fixed offshore platforms for oil and gas exploration and production.
This is the second mega project bagged by the L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Ltd-EMAS combine from Saudi Aramco in a span of few weeks.
Last month, the consortium was awarded a mega project in the Marjan field by Saudi Aramco, valued at around $1 billion.
Larsen & Toubro, a company engaged in technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services with over $20 billion in revenue, operates in over 30 countries.
