UAE issues fake news alert on student death

The authorities urge the public to refer to news published solely by official sources

Fake news

The Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) affirms that the information circulating regarding the passing of a female student due to a heart attack caused by academic failure or repeating a grade is false and lacks any factual basis.

The statement was issued by the establishment via its official Twitter account on Wednesday. The authorities urge the public to refer to news published solely by official sources.

According to the statement, no records indicate the existence of a female student with the circulating name within the schools affiliated with the Foundation in the UAE.

Following consultation with relevant official authorities, it was confirmed that there was no reported death of a female student with this name in the country.

The rumor was circulated by various social media accounts on several communication platforms and holds no credibility.

The dissemination of such false information directly violates the Federal Rumors and Cybercrime Law.

The Foundation strongly urges everyone to verify news from official sources prior to sharing or publishing it.
