Globally renowned architect firm Benoy said it signed a contract with Al Othaim Investment Company to continue work on the Konoz project, a cutting-edge entertainment city in the heart of Riyadh.
The signing coincides with the announcement that Benoy has established a new regional HQ in Riyadh – a move seen aimed at building on its strong presence in the Arabian Peninsula since 2007.
Benoy said it will be the lead architect for the project, which includes 50,000 square meters of state-of-the-art commercial office spaces and a 20,000 square meter entertainment city aimed at supporting Riyadh’s thriving tourism and entertainment industry.
The Konoz project also features 15,000 square meters of green areas, parking for 5,500 vehicles, a 120,000 square meter commercial center, and a world-class luxury hotel with 250 rooms.
It will also have 120 serviced residential apartments, and an additional 135,000 square meter residential apartment complex which includes 700 apartments.
The contract signing took place between Tom Cartledge, CEO of Handley House, and members of the Al Othaim family, in the presence of Kemi Badenoch, UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade, during a trip to Riyadh, the company said.
